Font problems with “Times New Roman”
The operating system on my computer, is “Windows XP
I worked 5 years with the font (Times New Roman), in all 4 styles without any problems:
Regular – Bold – Italic – Bold Italic
Lately I realized that the “Regular” style is not working. I opened the “Font” folder from Control Panel, and saw only 3 styles.
The “Regular” style is missing. ).
All programs on my computer do not see the “Regular” style:
Word – Word pad – Note Pad – Photoshop – Microsoft Paint – FreeHand – … etc … etc …
If I choose “regular” or “bold”, the result is always “bold.
I continued to work avoiding to use this font, but there are some programs that cannot work without it,
and when I try to open them, I got this message
"Font "Times new Roman" does not support style "Regular
So I tried to install the missing regular style from many sources .
I selected the regular style … copy and paste it in the “Font” folder in Control Panel,
But each time , a dialog box is displayed saying:
The Times New Roan (True Type) font is already installed .
To install a new version, first remove the old version.

With the “Search” tool, I searched for all files named: times.ttf
and deleted them.
Then I pasted the 4 files: …. Regular – Bold – Italic – and Bold Italic.
But without success. In my “Font” folder, only 3 files were pasted. The regular style is still missing.

The sites you advised me are for downloading and installing new fonts. My problem as I explained is that I see only 3 styles on font Times new Roman.
The regular style is not displayed in the font folder in control panel, and when I want to install it, a dialog box says that it is installed.
In spite the fact that the system says that it is installed, but all the programs don't see it
